Cup ofBulgaria

The tournament for the national cup has been lead from 1938 to 1942. The teams-champions of the sports regions in the country take part in it. From 1945 to 1990 has been lead a tournament for the Cup of the Soviet Army. Since 1981 the matches for the national cup are resumed, as the teams throughout Bulgaria take part in it. It is played under the system of direct elimination. The final is in a match and if it ends in a draw there are extra times and eventually penalty shots. During the years when the tournament is not lead, the winner of the Cup of the Soviet Army has been declared as a winner of the cup of Bulgaria. “Ford Moto Pfohe” is the general sponsor of the tournament for the Cup of Bulgaria since 1997.
